Young teachers are all looking for opportunities to gain experience working with students. I stumbled on a way to double, or potentially triple your group class time.
When you are invited to teach a class go ahead and split that class into two or more subsections and schedule them at different times (back to back might work best).
You most likely won’t be paid double for your additional work, but at the very least you will rack up twice the amount of group class time. On top of that you can use the same lesson plan for both, have the opportunity to teach the same plan back to back (optimizing your delivery the second time around), and get feedback on how the material lands with two different groups of students.
I hope you take advantage of such a simple trick. It was a game changer for me.
