My notes from lessons have taken many forms. I used to use Evernote. While teaching Zoom lessons I transitioned to Notion.
Now I take notes in a simple black notebook with a pencil.
I write out every students name in a list on one sheet of paper. I write them in the order of their lessons. Next to their name I write the three most important things we covered.
This might include their one point, new previews, and any necessary follow ups.
What I love about this method is that it requires me to summarize the lesson in very clear terms– which I think improves my ability to teach in very clear terms.
Because it is a physical notebook I do have the opportunity to write and check between each lesson.
I’m sure how I note-take will change again, but I adore the elegance of just a few words to summarize an entire lesson. I’m sure that will carry on with me for many iterations to come.
