Here is the full-length recording of my lecture recital performed at Ithaca College a few weeks ago.
The topic — a focus of mine for the length of my masters degree — is on how to bring ‘non-duality’ into performance practice on the violin. I attempt to give the audience an experience of non-duality, and then offer a collection of strategies I believe violin teacher Shin’ichi Suzuki used to cultivate non-duality in his students.
I start the recital with a 10 minute performance, lecture, and then complete the recital by performing the music in reverse order.
I hope to elaborate in writing on the points in the lecture in the next few weeks. Stay tuned!
